Job Description:

Behind every safe and happy nursery is someone who keeps it sparkling. As our Nursery Chef and Housekeeper you will be serving up nutritious meals - fueling little bodies and minds for a day full of learning and play, whilst helping create a clean, welcoming space where children can thrive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and cook healthy and nutritious meals and snacks from approved menus
  • Champion cooking and baking across all areas of the nursery
  • Maintain high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
  • Ensure good stock rotation
  • Ensure correct temperature of all food before service
  • Be aware of health and safety legislation relevant to the nursery kitchen
  • Attend training as required
  • Take lead in Environmental Health Inspections
  • Empty all litter bins and remove waste
  • Complete all high and low level dusting
  • Assist with daily washing of nursery laundry
  • Clean all areas of the nursery including toilets, kitchen, play rooms and staff areas
  • Be aware and comply with all COSHH documents
  • Take reasonable care for health and safety
  • Clean all surfaces including tables, chairs, shelves, sinks, windows and doors
  • Attend 3 paid Saturday Training Days every year
  • Attend annual fundraising event on a Saturday

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Completion of a “Keeping Children Safe” Form
  • DBS check
  • At least 2 satisfactory employment references
  • Some roles may require a 5-year employment history
