Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school community, located in the heart of Cornwall. This part-time role offers an opportunity to support our school’s ethos of fostering a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pupils, contributing to a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum that values individual development and promotes a love of learning. The position is available from Wednesday to Friday each week, providing a flexible opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our school. This role is ideal for a Level 3 nursery TA committed to supporting young learners in their early educational journey.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, particularly within the nursery setting, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are supported in their personal development
  • Assist the classroom teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering activities that align with the school’s inclusive and child-centred approach
  • Support the social and emotional wellbeing of pupils, promoting positive behaviour and a safe, caring environment in line with the school’s values
  • Supervise pupils during various activities, including playtimes and lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and fostering a sense of community
  • Support the implementation of personalised learning plans and behavioural strategies to meet the needs of individual children
  • Contribute to maintaining a stimulating and organised classroom environment that reflects the school’s commitment to high standards and holistic development
  • Assist with the supervision of children during outings and special events, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s inclusive ethos
