Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our primary school community in Cornwall on a part-time basis to support a maternity cover. As a Level 3 qualified nursery TA, you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing environment that aligns with our school's ethos of creating a caring, inclusive, and inspiring place for children to learn and develop. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the positive educational journey of our pupils, supporting their individual growth and ensuring they thrive within our collaborative and student-centred approach.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering high-quality learning activities that reflect the school’s commitment to personalised education and holistic development
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and develop essential skills
  • Work closely with individual pupils, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs, particularly those requiring additional help, to promote their engagement and progress
  • Support the implementation of the school’s behaviour policy and promote positive behaviour, fostering a respectful and caring classroom atmosphere
  • Help manage classroom resources and equipment, ensuring they are used effectively to enhance learning experiences
  • Contribute to the supervision of children during breaks, lunchtimes, and other non-teaching periods, maintaining a secure and supportive environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback to support their ongoing development
  • Uphold the school’s values of respect, kindness, and inclusivity in all interactions with pupils, staff, and families

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualified nursery TA
  • experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. PMLD, ASD, ADHD) is highly desirable
  • naturally patient, empathetic, and nurturing
