Job Responsibility

Prepare and cook healthy and nutritious meals and snacks from approved menus
Champion cooking and baking across all areas of the nursery
Maintain high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
Ensure good stock rotation
Ensure correct temperature of all food
Be aware of health and safety legislation relevant to the nursery kitchen
Attend in-house and external training
Take lead in Environmental Health Inspections
Empty all litter bins and remove waste
Complete high and low level dusting

Manage deliveries efficiently - checking contents, organising distribution, and ensuring safe, accessible, and organised storage areas
Keep stock levels well-maintained and anticipate needs before shortages occur
Respond promptly to unexpected cleaning or organisational challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to the nursery’s operation
Follow all COSHH and Health & Safety procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice at all times
