We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nursery Assistant to join our team in St Neots. This full-time, permanent position plays a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and welcoming setting. The successful candidate will work closely with Nursery Practitioners and Senior staff to contribute to a positive learning environment.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities that promote children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development
Provide attentive and supportive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Support children with personal care routines and encourage positive hygiene practices
Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues to create and maintain effective communication with parents and carers
Observe and report any concerns regarding children’s welfare or development to senior staff promptly
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities
Adhere to all relevant health and safety, safeguarding, and nursery policies and procedures
Requirements:
Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, childcare, or educational setting is desirable
Basic understanding of early years development and childcare principles
Level 2 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent is preferred but not essential
willingness to work towards qualifications is welcomed
Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and commitment to child protection
First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain is advantageous
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for childcare
