Job Description

The Nursery Apprentice will support the Nursery deputies and Nursery practitioners in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Nursery. This role involves providing care and support for all children attending the Nursery.

Job Responsibility

To participate and assist in children’s activities including planning and observations
To assist the Nursery Practitioners in delivering stimulating activities appropriate to ages and stages of the children and maintain children’s records
To assist in maintaining a clean, healthy and safe environment for the children
To actively participate in team meetings and discussions
Assist in supervising children to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times
To attend training as necessary and carry out any other duties reasonably required by the Nursery manager

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable but not essential
enthusiasm and willingness to learn are important
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and the prevent agenda
Enthusiasm and drive
Ability to work under pressure
