Nurse Surgical Acute

Our 32-bed Trauma Med/Surg (Surgical Acute) Unit receives direct admits from our Emergency Department and transfers from our TICU. Besides the opportunity to learn via classes, our Trauma Surgeons are very supportive in helping with staff education to allow RNs to be more comfortable and confident in managing Trauma patients. The unit also manages medical, surgical, and uncomplicated patients who need Telemetry monitoring and is supported by Patient Care Techs. The ratio is 4:1 for Trauma and Telemetry patients and 5:1 for Med Surg patients, however, this can be adjusted due to acuity and other factors. Our team is cohesive and hardworking, who are ready to take on any challenge, and our staff are driven to provide excellent, quality, and safe care to all patients.
