Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the operation of the assigned clinical area on a daily basis. Oversees the delivery of professional nursing services which will address the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, developmental, and age-appropriate needs for each individual patient/family.
Job Responsibility:
Interviews and selects potential candidates for open positions, ensures training/orientation, evaluates competency, and intervenes/counsels staff when necessary
Participates in the creation of the departmental schedule and communicates appropriately
Participates in inter- and intra-departmental meetings, committees, and other activities within Liberty Hospital
Demonstrates fiscal and operational responsibility through payroll and timecard maintenance
Assists Director in annual budget development, budget variance analysis, etc.
Promotes positive customer relations and effective communications with job contacts
Develops and implements unit-based and Department of Nursing guidelines, structure standards, standards of care, goals, and quality performance activities
Acts as a resource for staff and provides environment to motivate staff to optimum potential
Functions as a staff nurse in the department, as needed
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
Requirements:
Graduate from a school of nursing
3 or more years Clinical nursing experience
Advanced training and experience in specialty
Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing with eligibility to work in the state of MO
