Nurse Shift Manager Med Surg ICU

• Leads and supervises nursing staff during assigned shifts, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
• Assigns patient care responsibilities based on patient acuity and nursing staff expertise, ensuring optimal patient outcomes
• Serves as a clinical resource and educator, assessing, monitoring, and training nursing staff on best practices in patient care
• Responds effectively to emergencies, initiating appropriate procedures and providing guidance to the team
• Proactively anticipates and addresses staffing needs, ensuring seamless patient care transitions
• Provides direct patient care as needed, demonstrating clinical expertise and compassion
• Oversees unit operations, including supply management and accurate patient record keeping, to ensure a smooth transition for subsequent shifts
• Actively engages with patients and families, fostering a positive and supportive care environment
• Attends leadership meetings, staying informed about new initiatives and areas for improvement, and effectively communicates this information to the team
• Monitors departmental productivity and efficiency, identifying opportunities for optimization
• Mentors and develops team members, sharing knowledge and fostering confidence in assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and other staff
• Ensures the department is positioned to deliver the highest quality care to our patients

• Associates Degree in Nursing (e.g. ADN) required and actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other-related field (e.g., BSN/BBA/BHA)
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
• Registered Nurse with current CA License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) other credentials or credential modules may be required
• LA City Fire Card required within 90 days of hire
