Job Description:

Northridge Hospital Medical Center's LABOR & DELIVERY unit is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Shift Manager who is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care during one of life's most transformative moments. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates a commitment to patient care excellence and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and direct the overall nursing care provided on your assigned unit during each shift, ensuring optimal patient outcomes
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Strategically assign patients to nursing staff based on patient acuity and employee skill level, ensuring appropriate and efficient care delivery
  • Anticipate staffing needs and proactively adjust assignments to maintain adequate coverage and ensure patient safety
  • Oversee the stocking of supplies and the updating of patient records, ensuring the nursing floor is fully prepared for seamless transitions between shifts

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse required
  • 2 years experience in L&D
  • Registered Nurse with current CA License
  • AHA BLS, ACLS and NRP required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN) required and actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other-related field (e.g., BSN/BBA/BHA)
  • LA Fire Card required within 90 days of hire
