Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in beautiful Northeast Florida, is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Surgical Oncology team within the Division of Surgery. Job Responsibility:
Patient population: Providing care for patients with malignant and complex conditions of the gastrointestinal tract (including liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and stomach), skin, and soft tissues (including melanoma and sarcoma)
Inpatient care: First-assistant in the OR (robot, laparoscopic, open cases)
Rounding on patients in the acute post-operative phase who are admitted to the hospital for surgical oncology and colorectal surgery
Post-operative wound care and pain management
Timely collaboration with consulting physicians
Coordinating discharges from the hospital
Evaluation of new consults
Outpatient Care: evaluates new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians, as well as a multidisciplinary team, completes outpatient documentation in a timely fashion, and performs clinic procedures as applicable
Shared night and weekend call: home call for service during the week, and weekend call with inpatient rounding and OR coverage for emergency cases
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience as a first assist or RNFA preferred
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current Florida licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
