Nurse Practitioner / Physician AssistantDivision of Cancer Medicine– South Medical OncologyBaptist MD Anderson Cancer Center | Jacksonville, Florida. Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in beautiful Northeast Florida, is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Hematology/Medical Oncology team within the Division of Cancer Medicine. Baptist MD Anderson is a premier cancer center that combines the strengths of the region’s most preferred healthcare provider, Baptist Health, with the renowned cancer care expertise of MD Anderson Cancer Center. In support of our mission, we recently opened a 330,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility dedicated solely to oncology care—designed to enhance the patient experience and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of adult patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Conduct new patient consultations, follow-up visits, treatment-related assessments, and symptom management visits
  • Manage patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other systemic treatments, including monitoring for and managing treatment-related toxicities
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing, pharmacy, infusion services, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
  • Participate in inpatient rounding, admissions, discharges, and transitions of care as assigned
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, symptom management, and supportive care needs
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, and perform procedures within scope of practice and collaborative agreements
  • Document clinical care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and institutional goals
