The Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital seeks qualified Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join our multidisciplinary team.
Job Responsibility:
Providing care to infants, children, and adults with critical illness
Collaborating with supervising physicians to conduct patient assessments and medical history, physical exams, and diagnose health and developmental problems
Caring for patients with both acute and chronic disease by managing therapeutic regimens according to approved guidelines
Participating in intensive care unit medical rounds, including the presentation of clinical information and the progress and management of patients
Assisting with establishing a treatment plan and being included in all teaching activities conducted by the MSICU attending staff
Participating in ongoing research in the MSICU and offering expertise as a consultant and educator to other staff
Ability to work full time, 40 hours/week, day/night rotation with every 3rd weekend, 12-hour shifts
Opportunities also available for permanent nights with every 4th weekend rotation
Requirements:
Master of Science in Nursing or Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies
1 year of critical care experience preferred
Will consider new graduates with previous relevant experience
Solid medical knowledge base for critical care medicine
Critical thinking skills and adaptability
Excellent communication skills and work collaboratively with medical and surgical colleagues, staff, and trainees
A current Massachusetts NP or PA license required
