Job Responsibility:
Delivers primary care to acute, critical, complex and chronically ill patient population collaboratively with the Divisions of Critical Care Medicine and Cardiac Intensivists teams
Provides comprehensive: physical assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients and their families
Provides acute resuscitation, on-going multi-disciplinary medical management, transitional care to sub-acute areas, critical care consultations and evaluations, psychosocial support, and health education to patients and their families in the critical care arena
Functions as a clinical leader, consultant, and educator in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and all healthcare team members
Supports the philosophies of the department and is evaluated by nursing and medical staff
Performs under standardized procedures within the critical care specialties per Medical Staff privileges
(Trauma only) Will work collaboratively with the Divisions of Pediatric Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and other specialists as part of the multidisciplinary Trauma Services team
(Trauma only) Participates in Trauma Center performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) processes and takes on additional duties to support the care of injured patients
Requirements:
Master's Degree
BLS for Health Providers (American Heart Association)
California RN License
NP Furnishing, CA
Nurse Practitioner, CA
Ped Adv Life Support Prov(American Heart Association)
Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier)
National NP certification obtained within 6 months of employment
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
(Trauma Only) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within 6 months of hire
Nice to have:

Ped Adv Life Supp Instr (American Heart Association)
2 years experience in clinical nursing within in Pediatric Critical Care (PICU, NICU, CTICU)
National Acute Care NP certification
