Job Responsibility:

  • Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses or those weaning sedatives after a recent critical illness in the inpatient setting
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the source of pain and patient needs
  • Facilitating collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes
  • Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research
  • Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and families as needed on pertinent topics
  • 36 hours per week, less than 50% day/night rotation, 12-hour shifts, with every 4th weekend

Requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a pediatric setting, ideally with a pediatric intensive care background
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required
  • A current MA NP license
  • BLS and PALS certification
