The Nurse Practitioner, Heart Institute will collaborate with the multidisciplinary Heart Institute team to provide individualized patient care for infants and children with the most complex pediatric congenital heart conditions, including but not limited to single ventricle and pulmonary hypertension physiology. Individualized patient care duties will include history and physical assessment, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, medication ordering, prescribing, and management, interdisciplinary care coordination, and patient and family education. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this position will also promote evidence-based practice through participation in research design, implementation, and interpretation, and promote clinical quality improvement through participation, design, and implementation of quality improvement initiatives aimed at care provided to infants and children with complex pediatric congenital conditions, including but not limited to single ventricle and pulmonary hypertension physiology. This position will also be responsible for data collection and documentation for clinical management and certification requirements, development of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures, development of educational and teaching materials for patients and families, and community education and relationship building. The Nurse Practitioner supports the philosophies of the department and is evaluated by nursing and medical staff. The Nurse Practitioner also performs under standardized procedures within the Heart Institute services per Medical Staff privileges.

Requirements:
Master's Degree in Nursing
