Job Responsibility:
Provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings
Accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician
Primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care
Nurse Practitioners assigned to work in Urgent Care are required to report to work at multiple Urgent Care locations on a regular basis
Nurse Practitioners assigned to Emergency Medicine will be required to work at additional locations on occasion
Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Nursing
Current California Nurse Practitioner license
Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Furnishing Number, State of California (Must obtain within 1 year of employment)
DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (Must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Medicare Billing number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) (Must obtain within 6 months of employment)
Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully complete the requirements of the PA Practice Agreement for the assigned division
Nice to have:
2 Years of Experience in a direct clinical care position with emphasis in specialty area
Current PALS Certification, issued by AHA
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
