Job Responsibility:

  • Provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings
  • Accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician
  • Primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care
  • Nurse Practitioners assigned to work in Urgent Care are required to report to work at multiple Urgent Care locations on a regular basis
  • Nurse Practitioners assigned to Emergency Medicine will be required to work at additional locations on occasion

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner license
  • Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
  • Furnishing Number, State of California (Must obtain within 1 year of employment)
  • DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (Must obtain within 1 year of employment)
  • Medicare Billing number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) (Must obtain within 6 months of employment)
  • Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
  • Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
  • Successfully complete the requirements of the PA Practice Agreement for the assigned division

Nice to have:

  • 2 Years of Experience in a direct clinical care position with emphasis in specialty area
  • Current PALS Certification, issued by AHA
  • Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
  • Bilingual
