Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings. The Nurse Practitioner functions as a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, care coordinator and consultant and works with the supervision of a physician. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed.

Job Responsibility

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner License
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
  • Furnishing number, State of California (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
  • DEA license for position that require the writing of scheduled medications (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
  • Medicare Billing Number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) - (must obtain within 6 months of employment)
  • Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)
  • Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Service
  • Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division

Nice to have

  • 2 years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
  • Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
  • Bilingual
