As our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will take a leadership role in assessing patient/family health problems and resources, and developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. This position provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill patient populations across all ages, from infancy to later life/geriatric, within our dynamic Perioperative department.
Job Responsibility
Assess patient/family health problems and resources
Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care plans
Provide professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill patient populations across all ages
Go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, and prepare patients for various surgical procedures
Serve as a patient advocate through holistic care practices
Recognize and adapt swiftly to changes in patient conditions
Utilize the SBAR format for physician notification
Perform bedside nurse-to-nurse reports
Prepare patients for surgical procedures
Administer medications as directed by physician
Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
Organize and prioritize patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient
Requirements
One (1) year RN experience within Critical Care (ICU, Telemetry, ER)
AZ RN license or RN license from a Compact State
Current American Heart Association BLS
American Heart Association ACLS, within 30 days
American Heart Association PALS, within 6 months
Nice to have
Strong cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring skills
BSN
One (1) year post anesthesia care experience
Knowledge of surgical procedures, critical care (surgical) background, pediatric experience helpful
