Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
Current Oregon RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ACLS within six (6) months of hire
Strong Surgical Acumen: Deep understanding of sterile technique, procedures, equipment
Critical Thinking & Leadership: Evaluate complex situations, make quick decisions, respond to emergencies
coordinate teams

Job Responsibility

Maintain safe surgical environment, including sterile technique
Assist anesthesia/surgeon
prepare OR (equipment setup)
prepare lab specimens
ensure instruments/supplies are ready
Be able to circulate and/or scrub a case
Provide Conscious Sedation to Endoscopy patients
Continuously assess/re-prioritize patient health status
initiate/maintain individual plan of care
Collaborate with patient/providers/resources for discharge/transfer

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
One (1) year of related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board required
Basic Life Support (BLS)
AHA Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
Computer Skills: Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, Internet navigation, database management, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, and graphic presentation packages

Job Responsibility

Maintain a safe surgical environment, which includes sterile technique
Assisting anesthesia and/or the surgeon before, during or after cases
Preparing the operating room ie: equipment setup
Preparing Lab specimens
Ensuring instruments, implants, supplies are ready based on the type of surgery
Be able to circulate and or scrub a case based on the day's assignment
Provide Conscious Sedation to Endoscopy patients
Continuously and systematically assesses the health care status of the patient
Initiates and maintains an individual plan of care
Collaborates with patient, primary care providers, family, internal and community resources to coordinate patient discharge/transfer needs
