Job Description

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the soon-to-open Weaver Tower 6 General Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in launching a new inpatient unit while building and leading a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24/7 leadership, clinical oversight, and operational management of a fast-paced, high-acuity, 24-bed PCU unit. This leader will help establish the culture, workflows, and operational excellence of Weaver Tower 6 while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care and supporting team member engagement and development.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide 24/7 operational and clinical leadership for a 24-bed General PCU
  • Lead the successful opening and ongoing operations of Weaver Tower 6
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
  • Build, mentor, and develop a highly engaged nursing team focused on clinical excellence
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate nursing staff while promoting professional growth and continuing education
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational and patient care goals
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement data-driven performance improvement initiatives
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental fiscal performance
  • Address patient and family concerns in a timely and effective manner while supporting efforts to improve patient satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards established by accrediting organizations, including The Joint Commission and CMS
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, and financial management skills

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) – Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification – Required
  • Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) – Preferred
  • 3–5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care setting
  • Previous experience leading a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Step-Down Unit, Telemetry Unit, or similar high-acuity inpatient environment preferred
  • Experience leading teams through growth, change management, or unit openings strongly preferred
