The Nurse Manager, Outpatient Surgery will lead and optimize our busy and growing outpatient surgical department. This key leadership role is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and daily operations of all aspects of outpatient surgical care, including pre-operative assessment, surgical suite management, and post-anesthesia care (PACU) within an ambulatory setting. This position demands a strong clinical background in outpatient perioperative nursing, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and optimize the busy and growing outpatient surgical department
Provide comprehensive oversight and daily operations of all aspects of outpatient surgical care, including pre-operative assessment, surgical suite management, and post-anesthesia care (PACU) within an ambulatory setting
Supervise assigned professional, technical, and clerical staff of the department to ensure the quality of work
Manage the workflow of the unit to ensure the delivery of quality patient care
Implement and support patterns and ensure availability of sufficient qualified staff to meet patient care needs
Develop staffing patterns and ensure availability of sufficient qualified staff to meet patient care needs
Work to develop and retain highly skilled and well-rounded staff including hiring, orienting, training, directing work, evaluating performance and assuring clinical competency
Contribute to the effective management of the department including supplies, equipment, space, technology, policies and procedures
Contribute to the financial viability of the organization including managing productivity and budgeting process
Maintain effective working relationships, communication and collaborative decision making with medical staff, other departments, leaders, staff and others
Assist the organization in maintaining and achieving its goals related to licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards
Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and competence
Be responsible for accurate and timely delivery of various reports including staff schedules, payroll, labor productivity, IRIS and others as assigned
Participate in community activities on behalf of the organization
Requirements:
BSN Degree
Current RN license in the State of Kentucky
BLS certification
Minimum of 3 years RN experience required
Minimum of 2 years leadership (i.e. Supervisor and above) experience required
