Job Description:

Join Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute and become part of one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations. We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well as additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. We are welcoming new caregivers to collaborate within our multidisciplinary teams and contribute to nationally recognized, innovative neurological care. Join us and be part of the next wave of transformative care at Cleveland Clinic. The Nurse Manager of the Neuro Institute provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered nursing care within the assigned unit. This role sets the clinical vision for nursing practice, provides expert supervision, and drives quality, safety, and performance outcomes. The Nurse Manager leads all aspects of workforce management and professional development, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. In collaboration with interdisciplinary partners, the Nurse Manager coordinates unit operations and is responsible for budget development, resource stewardship, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit
  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care
  • Supervise caregivers and promote development
  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards
  • Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments
  • Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes
  • Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs
  • Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience
  • High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills

Nice to have:

Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN)
