As our Extern RN, you will experience a dynamic and supportive residency, receiving personalized attention to foster long-term success and cross-training across our interconnected Nursing units.Every day you will deliver individualized patient care by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, administering treatments, monitoring vital signs, and educating patients and families, all while embracing varied nursing tasks.To be successful in this role, you will actively engage in our comprehensive, evidence-based Residency Program, utilizing clinical orientation, practice, and mentorship. You will demonstrate a passion for learning and teamwork within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Job Responsibility:
Assess patients according to standards of care and individual patient needs
Monitors vital signs, lab values and diagnostic tests and reports/acts on abnormal results
Observes the administration of prescribed medications and intravenous solutions and applies medication concepts/theories to Extern patient population
Documents clinically relevant assessments, findings, and histories in the patient's record according to hospital protocols
Assesses pain level in all patients using 0-10, Faces, or other approved scale to promote comfort and enable patients to participate in their healing
Identifies comfort function goals with patients
Requirements:
Must have successfully completed Block 1 of Nursing School
Current Healthcare Provider AHA BLS completion card
Enrolled in accredited and/or AZBN approved BSN or Concurrent Enrollment (ADN/BSN)Nursing Program
Two letters of recommendations from clinical nursing instructors (required)
Be able to work 1-2 shifts per pay period (2-4 shifts per month) as a casual non-benefited employee
Days Nights and Weekends are available
Be able to successfully complete the new hire on-boarding process
