Job Description:

The Director of Nursing, Inpatient Hospital is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and coordination of nursing services within the Institute’s oncology inpatient hospital. The Nursing Director (ND) at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a pivotal leadership role, reporting to the Senior Nurse Director. This position carries 24-hour accountability operational leadership of inpatient nursing services, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, compassionate, and patient- and family-centered care. The Nursing Director fosters a culture of excellence, collaboration, equity, and continuous improvement while aligning nursing practice with DFCI’s mission, values, and Professional Practice Model.

Job Responsibility:

  • Overall leadership, management, and coordination of nursing services within the Institute’s oncology inpatient hospital
  • 24-hour accountability operational leadership of inpatient nursing services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees required, one of which must be in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with 3-5 years' experience in health care, with progressive administrative experience
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and or New Hampshire as applicable
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Organizational and strategic skills

Nice to have:

  • Advanced degrees in Nursing Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field
  • Oncology experience
  • Leadership, Oncology, or Research Nursing certification
