Job Description

Bayview Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Auxiliary to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide basic patient care and support the delivery of quality healthcare services under the guidance of Registered Nurses and within the scope of their training.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide basic nursing care and assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
  • Monitor and report patient conditions, vital signs, intake/output, and any changes in health status to the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with patient examinations, treatments, wound care, and transportation to procedures and appointments
  • Maintain patient comfort, safety, hygiene, and confidentiality at all times
  • Support the preparation, stocking, cleaning, and maintenance of patient care areas, equipment, and medical supplies
  • Accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
  • Comply with hospital policies, professional standards, and all applicable healthcare regulations

  • Lead quality improvement activities and initiatives
  • Provide ambulatory care support as a member of the care team, as needed
  • Advocate for patients by working with the providers and auxiliary staff to ensure the patients’ needs are met
  • Provide support for other Nurse Managers including covering sites in the event of a staffing issue or managerial support
  • Completes the responsibilities of the Nurse Supervisor if this position is not filled at a site
