Job Responsibility

  • Provides all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and post-anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care
  • Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives
  • Participates in preoperative evaluation including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering/administering pre‐medications, requesting and/or review of preoperative studies
  • Ensures readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic
  • Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Selects, obtains, and administers the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature regulating devices
  • Performs post-anesthesia duties including remaining with the patient and facilitating safe transfer of care
  • Manage emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients
  • Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participates in quality, safety and peer review initiatives/performance activities, organizational and/or departmental meetings and committees, peer review, and workgroups
  • Participates in education and/or onboarding of new team members, students, and other health care professionals
  • Seeks experiences to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and advance the profession
  • Maintains standards of productivity, access, face-to-face time, and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served

Requirements

  • Active RN license in state(s) of practice
  • Active APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice
  • Active national board certification as CRNA by NBCRNA
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire
  • Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Must have functional vision and hearing
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head
  • Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
  • Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
  • Must be able to use foot pedals on carts or machines
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shift
  • Must be able to perform various patient positioning and transporting duties
  • Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
