Job Description:

Provides anesthesia services to patients and ensure patient safety. Involved in aspects of pre-operative and intra-operative care in a dynamic clinical setting where communication skills and clinical expertise are paramount.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs pre-anesthesia patient interview and evaluates patient's condition
  • Induces and maintains anesthesia/analgesia at a required safe level and monitors support life junctions during the administration of anesthesia
  • Determines the need for timely administration of indicated medications and supportive therapy
  • Assembles supplies and equipment for anesthetic cases
  • Helps position patient properly on operating table
  • Performs technical procedures, including veni-puncture, arterial puncture, laryngoscopy, oral or nasal intubation
  • Inspects anesthesia and ancillary equipment for health and safety hazards
  • Pursues professional growth and increased knowledge through continuing education

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Graduate of a school of nurse anesthesia, accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (Dept. of H.E.W. authorized accrediting agent) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current A.A.N.A. membership, active practicing category
  • CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist upon hire
