Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire and
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, upon hire or
Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, upon hire and
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire

Job Responsibility

Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family
Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care
Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and radiologists to ensure an effective and harmonious working environment
Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance
Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical procedures to include in vivo and in vitro studies
operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation including stationary imaging devices, scintillation gamma and apparatus for in vitro counting
Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients
formulate radiopharmaceutical materials from pre-prepared kits
Calibrate instruments and review calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction
Calculate data to include results of patient studies and radioactive decay

Job Responsibility

Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department
Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes
Prepares equipment and supplies
Selects appropriate imaging parameters
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
Reviews patient history and physician's orders
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
Manages radiation emergencies and monitors radiation safety in accordance with radiation safety policy under the guidance of the radiation safety officer
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)
