Job Description

In order to support the growth of the Nuclear Assurance, Technology and Regulation business, we is seeking a skilled and experienced Nuclear Engineer to be based in our Bristol MoD Project Office. As a Nuclear Engineer you will be working within an established yet growing team operating within Consultancy & Defence Integrator Solutions Business, supporting the Ministry of Defence in the Nuclear Submarine Programme.

Job Responsibility

  • To provide authoritative advice to MoD in support of their internal governance processes
  • To act as a Subject Matter Expert in relevant technical areas, providing technical advice to MoD
  • Representing the team in internal and external project and technical meetings
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken

Requirements

  • Experience within the, naval nuclear propulsion programme and detailed knowledge of naval reactor plant or the UK Submarine Enterprise
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline
  • Hold or be working towards Chartered status
  • Flexibility with the ability to travel as the demands of the role dictates
  • Working knowledge of Safety Case construct and production
  • Working knowledge of UK Regulatory systems and the organisations involved
  • Ability to work across a range of tasks and liaise with stakeholders at all levels
