Job Responsibility

  • Performs Nuclear Medicine and PET CT studies
  • Properly sets up equipment, positions patient, and determines proper acquisition parameters
  • Able to effectively work in all areas of Nuclear Medicine including Radiopharmacy, Quality Control and therapies
  • Translates Nuclear Medicine electronic orders to verify patient name, date and appropriate exam
  • Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure
  • Maintains patient record keeping by properly using the current electronic scheduling and imaging archiving programs
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms
  • Assists with the training of new Nuclear Medicine Technologists as needed

Requirements

  • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CT registry required within 1 year of hire date
  • Maintains current NYS licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
  • 1-2 years’ experience preferred

Serve as a subject matter expert for one type of equipment and oversee everyday tasks and troubleshooting within their area of expertise.
