Thélios S.p.A., a company of the LVMH Group, is looking for a dynamic, motivated young talent with a solid academic background in Management Engineering, Economics, or a related field, to join our NPI (New Product Introduction) Purchasing team for a structured internship. This is a pivotal opportunity to kickstart your career and actively contribute to managing procurement activities for new product development. The intern will play a key support role, working closely with various departments including Research & Development, Engineering, Quality, and Production, within an innovative and fast-paced environment that fosters professional growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Support and collaborate on procurement activities for new projects, from concept to mass production, identifying and implementing opportunities for streamlined processes and greater efficiency
  • Assist R&D and Engineering teams in defining specifications for components and materials, always considering cost-effectiveness and process optimization
  • Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and selection of new suppliers, ensuring alignment with technical, quality, and cost requirements, with a particular emphasis on long-term efficiency gains
  • Participate in cost analysis for new components and materials, actively seeking and proposing opportunities for cost reduction, process simplification, and overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization
  • Acquire and apply comprehensive knowledge of production and technological processes related to new products to inform strategic purchasing decisions and contribute to process re-engineering efforts
  • Act as a key interface and support between the Procurement team and other involved departments (R&D, Engineering, Quality, Production) to foster collaborative approaches to process improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management Engineering, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong interest in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, particularly within NPI
  • Proactive, curious, and with a strong aptitude for identifying and proposing solutions for continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving abilities

  • Collaborate with battery engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, product design, and supplier teams to optimize energy density, cycle life, safety, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency for battery assemblies
  • Integrate supplier input into the development process by conducting supplier technology roadmap reviews and trade-space evaluations specific to cell chemistry (e.g., Si anode roadmaps), pack architecture, and BMS/BMU technologies
  • Drive strategic supply chain direction and innovation with product design and technology operations, focusing on next-generation battery materials, cell formats, and pack integration
  • Utilize expertise in battery manufacturing processes (e.g., electrode coating, calendering, winding/stacking, electrolyte filling, formation, aging, pack assembly, welding, BMS integration, safety testing) to assess supplier capabilities, resolve capacity constraints, and validate cost dependencies
  • Apply analytical problem-solving to SPOR (Supplier Plan of Record) decisions and complex supply chain issues related to battery sourcing, including multi-source strategies and cell qualification trade-offs
  • Lead negotiations for purchase agreements, NRE, capacity reservation, and long-term supply contracts to secure optimal terms and ensure supplier accountability for program deliverables across the battery supply base
