As an NPI Buyer, your main mission is to support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by ensuring efficient purchasing and material control activities, fully aligned with commodity strategies and supplier management processes. You will be responsible for managing NPI-related spend, securing the availability of components, and ensuring cost efficiency while meeting project timelines and requirements. In this role, you will act as a key interface between Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales teams, contributing to project success from development phase to full batch manufacturing.
Job Responsibility
Provide purchasing and material control support within the NPI process
Ensure alignment with Purchasing commodity and supplier management processes
Support Engineering and Sales departments' project deliverables
Ensure value for money methodology is maintained within NPI projects and cost targets
Develop and assess the supply base to support NPI and full batch manufacturing
Provide detailed cost analysis and ensure full visibility to Engineering and Sales throughout the design and development process
Identify suitable suppliers aligned with current and future requirements
Negotiate with suppliers to control cost, service levels, payment terms, and performance metrics within NPI scope
Ensure materials are procured and inventory levels are aligned with NPI deliverables
Support the Material Control team in defining materials management plans prior to final NPI release
Set up and maintain BOMs within the AXAPTA system in coordination with Purchasing and Material Control
Raise and expedite purchase orders and track component order status
Ensure alternative sourcing options are explored to meet project timelines and cost objectives
Support QA & Engineering to ensure component approval processes are completed before first order placement
Participate in localization activities and develop local sourcing opportunities in Tunisia
Requirements
Experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001)
Strong analytical, organizational, and systems-oriented mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Fluent in English
Autonomous, structured, and results-oriented
Strong team spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
