Job Description

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for anyone interested in gaining experience in research. Our client is an independent research agency, and they talk with people across the UK to understand their experiences. Our client is currently working on projects in collaboration with the Department of Health and Social Care where they discuss how citizens feel about public health, data, and life in the UK at in-person workshops. We are looking for freelance note-takers to assist them with this research. This is an excellent chance to gain firsthand insight into research, public health, and strategic insight development, with potential for future freelancing opportunities for our client.

  • Take detailed and accurate verbatim notes during discussions
  • Participate in a briefing call before the event to understand the workshop format and your role
  • Help with arranging tables and chairs before workshop start
  • Help with neatly packing away papers and stationery after workshop is over

Requirements

  • Bring your own laptop for note-taking
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Fast and accurate typing
  • Excellent grammar and attention to detail
  • While not essential, being locally based in one of the workshop locations would be preferred

What we offer

  • Firsthand experience in social research and deliberative methods
  • Opportunity to travel with expenses covered, including accommodation, transportation, and meals
  • Future freelance opportunities either remotely or in-person (e.g., transcribing focus groups, live note-taking) for our client
