Job Description

The Accounting Manager will serve as a senior leader and subject‑matter expert responsible for ensuring regulatory, financial, and ethical compliance across the firm’s nonprofit client portfolio. This role partners closely with clients to oversee governance, bookkeeping, reporting, and risk management while providing strategic guidance on IRS regulations and advocacy rules.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and maintain strong, trusted relationships with nonprofit clients
  • Oversee day‑to‑day client workflows, deliverables, and service timelines
  • Lead client onboarding processes, including compliance and filing requirements
  • Provide responsive, high‑quality service to meet client needs and deadlines
  • Oversee and review client accounting functions, including balance sheet and P&L management
  • Oversee payroll processes for clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Implement and advise on internal controls, compliance policies, and best practices
  • Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory changes impacting nonprofit organizations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, client‑focused, team environment
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort advising clients on complex compliance matters
