Job Description:

As a Non-Residential CRSW, you will support adults with disabilities in both community and home settings. This may include assisting with grocery shopping, appointments, recreation programs, personal care, or teaching new skills that promote independence and confidence. Your role is to encourage participation, ensure safety, and help individuals live full and meaningful lives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support individuals to take part in everyday activities like shopping, appointments, and recreation
  • Teach and encourage daily living skills that build independence and confidence
  • Provide respectful personal care when needed
  • Put client support plans into action and follow ICE procedures for safety and well-being
  • Keep clear and accurate documentation of supports provided
  • Communicate openly with supervisors, families, and coworkers to ensure consistent care
  • Stay calm and professional when challenges arise, using ICE strategies to de-escalate
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment

Requirements:

  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
  • Basic First Aid with CPR Level A (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • Two work-related references
  • Dependable
  • Able to communicate clearly with clients who may have limited verbal skills, as well as with families and team members
  • Able to stay calm and follow ICE procedures in stressful or unexpected situations
  • Some programs require: valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and $2M liability insurance
