Job Description

We are looking for a Non-Profit Accountant to support key financial operations for a long-term contract assignment in Bellevue, Washington. This role will focus on accurate month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting while helping maintain reliable day-to-day accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across payables, receivables, and general ledger work, and can also contribute ideas that improve efficiency within the accounting function.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely processing and accurate recording of transactions
  • Record and reconcile incoming cash from multiple sources such as auxiliary revenue, donations, and other receipts
  • Prepare departmental financial reports each month and support the full month-end close cycle with precision and consistency
  • Analyze payroll-related and employee expense data from an accounting perspective and produce related reporting for finance stakeholders
  • Perform reconciliations for advancement contributions and other balance sheet accounts to maintain accurate financial records
  • Post journal entries and maintain general ledger activity in alignment with established accounting standards and internal controls
  • Assist with efforts to streamline accounting workflows, including improvements to payable processes and related systems
  • Help shorten close timelines by identifying reporting gaps, improving reconciliations, and supporting more efficient month-end processing

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing month-end close tasks, including reporting and processing responsibilities
  • Strong background in account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and other general ledger balance reviews
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency with Blackbaud is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a non-profit or fund accounting environment is highly desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and report financial data effectively
  • Familiarity with Paycom or similar payroll-related systems is preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a long-term contract role while supporting process improvement initiatives
