Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Non-Producing Mortgage Retail Sales Manager (SAFE) in Consumer Lending as part of Home Lending. This role involves managing a team of Mortgage Bankers and support staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, developing sales strategies, and maintaining customer relationships in the mortgage retail sales division.

Job Responsibility:

Coach, direct, and manage the sales activities of a branch of Mortgage Bankers (a minimum of 12 direct reports) and the activities of branch support team members
Manage customer loyalty/disloyalty performance levels
Manage overall branch loan origination activities through the management of branch pipeline
Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Mortgage Retail Sales functional area
Recruit, develop, and manage a sales team that generates quality loans compliant with company policies
Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of Mortgage Banker team
Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functional areas
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers
Develop knowledge of company products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements
Develop understanding of federal and state home lending regulations
Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
Inform prospective and existing customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs
Analyze detailed financial and credit data, matching customer needs with appropriate loan program
Develop and maintain a high degree of visibility and credibility for WFHM in the marketplace
Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

Requirements:

4+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of Leadership experience
SAFE registration at the time of employment
Compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies
Acceptable background check investigation results
Meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements for Loan Originator positions

Nice to have:

2+ years of sales management experience
1+ year of experience in recruiting individuals or team
Mortgage industry experience
Established referral base within assigned market
Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills
Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals
Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
Working knowledge of compliance, policy and federal regulations
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish/English
A BS/BA degree or higher
Basic Microsoft Office skills
