Job Description:

England Athletics is seeking to strengthen its Board with two exceptional individuals who wish to serve as a Non-Executive Director and support the direction for the next phase of the strategy. The successful candidates will join the England Athletics Board at an exciting and challenging time for the sport and in the wider sports sector.

Job Responsibility:

  • Chair the Audit & Assurance Committee
  • Develop and chair a newly formed commercial advisory group
  • Attend Board meetings around 6-8 times a year
  • Be appointed to one or more Board Committees or a Task & Finish Group

Requirements:

  • ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualifications
  • Strong financial background as a Financial Director or Senior Finance Manager
  • Experience in providing strategic, governance and risk management oversight
  • Strong commercial background at a senior level
  • Expertise in commercial strategy and business development to help drive sustainable growth, sponsorship and provide independent scrutiny

Nice to have:

  • Recent involvement, or an interest, in athletics
  • Previous Board experience
