SP Industries Inc. is expanding our team in Vineland, NJ and have an immediate opening for an NMR Utility worker. In this role, the right candidate will provides essential operational support to the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) department by performing a variety of hands-on manufacturing, inspection, and support tasks. This position supports production flow by assisting with round bottoming, grinding, inspection, cutting, and packaging activities while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The NMR Utility works closely with NMR Inspectors and Supervisors to ensure timely and accurate processing of products. Hours are Monday- Thursday on 1st Shift - 4/10s schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Perform round bottoming operations in accordance with established procedures and quality standards
Conduct grinding operations to meet dimensional and finish requirements
Perform inspection of glassware and components to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements
Cut glassware or materials safely and accurately using approved tools and equipment
Package finished and in-process products according to packaging and handling requirements
Prepare, stage, and move materials and work-in-process throughout the NMR department
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in alignment with 5S standards
Complete required documentation, logs, and inspection records accurately
Identify and report quality issues, defects, or equipment concerns to supervision
Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures, including proper PPE usage
Support cross-training and provide general utility support across the NMR department
Participate in continuous improvement and Lean / Kaizen initiatives
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and site objectives
Requirements:
Experience in manufacturing, glassware, laboratory, or technical environment preferred
Familiarity with hand tools, grinding equipment, cutting tools, or inspection processes is a plus
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and quality concerns
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection tools
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
High School Diploma or GED required
