An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Forklift Loader to join our busy Night Shift Team at Scottish Galvanizers based in Glasgow. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process. Job Responsibility

  • Loading and offloading steel on lorries and company vehicles
  • Promote good customer service
  • Operating forklifts
  • Ensuring working areas are kept safe and tidy, working with your colleagues and company systems to highlight any concerns
  • Following training and procedures for all production-based activities and practices in your area

Requirements

  • Must possess a forklift (FLT) licence
  • Team-player, conscientious and has a 'can-do' attitude
  • Confident in lifting and handling work
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential

  • Continuously monitor, analyze, adjust, start up, and shut down rotary kiln systems as needed from computer systems in the control room
  • Continuously support & provide direction to rotary plant field operators as needed to coordinate plant operations
  • Sample brick grain from the kiln at the designated times & run quality control testing on the grain to determine bulk density
  • Analyze laboratory results & determine the appropriate process variables to change to maintain optimum quality
