This is an exciting opportunity to join the dedicated team at Cherry Lodge as a Night Residential Worker and make a real difference to young people's lives. Cherry Lodge is a local authority children's home and offers short breaks and shared care placements to children and young people with severe disabilities, complex health and behaviours that challenge between the ages of 5 and 18. The role seeks someone who is child centred, caring and wants to make a difference, dedicated to providing the best outcomes for Children with Disabilities and their families.
Job Responsibility:
Take responsibility for the safety and security of the building and residents
Work within care plans to support and advise children when necessary to ensure they receive appropriate levels of care and support
Work within care plans to ensure that children's behaviour is managed
This includes delegated heath tasks where specified and undertake a range of practical duties including domestic duties
Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of good Customer Care
Must have understanding of child development & children's physical & emotional needs
Report writing & recording skills
Involvement with children as a paid worker, volunteer or carer
Experience with office applications such as work and Outlook 365
GSCE's English or equivalent
Able to work flexible hours including weekends and bank holidays, sometimes at short notice
