Job Description

NIGHT Registered Mental Health Nurse- Rowan Unit. £29.60 per hour. Preston | Dovehaven Care Homes. RMN (Nights). Rowan unit, Tag Lane, Preston. 33, or 44 hour contract- 12hour shifts 8pm- 8am on a rota basis with every other weekend availability required.

Job Responsibility

  • Advising and working closely with the Care Team to deliver the highest standards of individual care to residents
  • Regularly reviewing and completing all documentation as required
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation reflects care given and any clinical intervention
  • Leaving clear, concise and personalised instructions for ongoing care delivery
  • Monitoring and controlling residents’ nutritional and dietary requirements
  • Supporting, guiding and leading the team to ensure safety of residents and staff

Requirements

  • NMC registration for appropriate client group (valid PIN number)
  • Relevant care home experience
  • Experience in medication administration, wound care, infection control and pressure area care
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good leadership skills

  • Provides nursing care to residents whose physical, mental, social and emotional needs are stabilized
  • Assists the Registered Nurse with the care of the resident whose needs are not stabilized
  • Assists the Registered Nurse with the assessment and development of the residents’ physical, mental, social and emotional needs, the plan of nursing care and evaluation of the nursing care plans (Nursing Process.)
  • Observes signs and symptoms pertinent to the residents’ conditions and reports any changes to the Registered Nurse on duty
  • Performs those procedures for which he or she has been prepared during his/her RPN training program and service training program and assumes responsibility for the nursing care, direction and guidance in the case of the absence of a Registered Nurse on duty
