Job Description

Heckfield is a living place: a Georgian family home lovingly restored to its classic origins and rewoven into 400-acres of Hampshire. Elegantly evolving, resolutely natural, we’re a beautiful piece of English history that redefines the idea of a hotel. We springboard from a storied past, celebrating the slow-and-simple now: a country haven — less than an hour from London — sculpted over centuries by ancient heather, woodland and meadow. We are now looking for a Night Guest assistant to join our friendly Front Office team.

Job Responsibility

  • To manage the hotel throughout the night and ensure our guests experience the same ”wow” of Heckfield Place whatever time of day or night, ensuring the team maintain exceptionally high standards of service delivery through awareness of guest preferences
  • To ensure all guest luggage is appropriately labelled and always delivered or collected from the correct room, as instructed by the Night Manager or Assistant Night Manager
  • To serve food and drink to company standards and be aware of Licensing Laws and Basic Food Hygiene
  • To make every effort possible to exceed guest expectations, ascertaining as much information about our guests as possible and ensuring it is recorded in the PMS and Daily Memo
  • To ensure the “Night Audit” is completed every night after checking if all guests are checked in and rates are accurate, and all necessary reports are prepared and distributed

Requirements

  • Effective communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and anticipate guests needs
  • A positive ‘can-do’ and “want to do it” attitude - extremely service orientated, proactive and decisive
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure, keep calm and act responsibly in cases of emergency

What we offer

  • Tronc (Allocation for 2024 was £7,800+ per annum/ person based on full time hours)
  • Increased holiday allowance
  • Vitality healthcare cover
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Life assurance scheme (from day one, covering up to 2x your annual salary)
  • 50% F&B discount when dining in our restaurants
  • Company sick pay
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Enhanced paternity pay
  • Recruit a Friend bonus (£1000)
  • Monthly employee recognition scheme
  • Annual employee parties
  • New baby gift
  • Free staff meals
  • 50% discount on Wildsmith Skin products
  • Heckfield Plus - online discounts
  • Christmas gift
