MD Streets is a multi-disciplinary Cape Town-based firm of Chartered Accountants providing accounting, audit, compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base. We pride ourselves on delivering professional, personalized service while fostering a collaborative and professional working environment that supports growth and development. The role will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys client contact, delivering accurate financial information, and supporting junior colleagues. You will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines, and contributing to process improvements across the practice. The role is for a newly qualified SAIPA trainee.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervising a monthly accounting department
  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
  • Timely submission of statutory returns
  • Assisting clients with accounting and software support
  • Preparing and reviewing Annual Financial Statements using IFRS for SMEs
  • Dealing with clients and correspondence
  • Managing and training junior staff and SAIPA trainees
  • Being able to lead staff with self-confidence, self-motivation, and a positive attitude

Requirements

  • Completed SAIPA articles
  • Pastel Partner and Sage One experience
  • Caseware knowledge
  • Strong technical VAT knowledge
  • Highly computer literate in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Company and individual tax knowledge essential
  • Previous experience in similar environment
  • Own transport (including valid SA driver's license)
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, take responsibility and accountability
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Interpersonal skills
