Job Description:

As part of the Syndicate Operations function within MSS Ops, the New Issue Syndicate Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the issuance of HSBC's Structured Notes program to ensure the booking and documentation are complete and accurate in accordance with the regulatory requirement. The role includes booking emails, T+1 review of bookings, reviewing and approving transaction documentation, and ensuring internal tasks required for issuance are completed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Complete booking emails and instructions to relevant HSBC internal parties in relation to the structured notes issuance program
  • Complete T+1 review of bookings against documentation to ensure consistency
  • Co-ordinate HSBC review and approval of transaction documentation
  • Engage internal HSBC stakeholders to ensure tasks required to support the issuance of structured notes are complete
  • Support other processes linked to the issuance of structured notes as reasonably requested by HSBC management
  • Apply judgment to operational situations in a fast-paced environment to drive progress
  • Identify potential financial risk to the bank and ensure proper resolution is achieved within the bank’s guidelines
  • Escalate as needed to whom necessary any issues that may cause financial loss to the bank or that could affect client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the asset class, with specific knowledge of structured notes program
  • Detailed understanding of documentation requirement and product lifecycle of structured notes program
  • Knowledge of financial processing systems and accounting
  • Excellent analytical and PC skills, as well as a keen eye for detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to operate autonomously without direct supervision
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions quickly in the event of a problem
  • Seasoned written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior operational and trading management
