New Home Star, in partnership with M/I Homes, is seeking a motivated and experienced sales professional to join the M/I Homes team in Howell, MI! M/I Homes is a renowned homebuilder dedicated to building customers' dream homes with outstanding quality, superior design, and excellent customer service. For nearly 50 years, M/I Homes has helped over 150,000 homeowners realize their dreams across 17 markets nationwide. As a New Home Consultant with M/I Homes, you will play a key role in guiding customers through the homebuying journey. Your responsibilities will include showcasing product features, floor plans, and designs to match each customer's specific needs. You will serve as a trusted advisor, collaborating with internal teams to ensure a seamless homebuilding process and customer satisfaction at every step.

Job Responsibility

  • Guide prospective buyers through the home-buying journey by building relationships, understanding their needs, and helping them find the right home
  • Generate sales opportunities through customer referrals, Realtor partnerships, community outreach, and lead follow-up
  • Showcase model homes and educate buyers on home features, community benefits, financing options, and the value of homeownership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact from initial inquiry through closing, providing exceptional service and proactive communication throughout the build process
  • Manage sales contracts, required documentation, backlog activities, and coordination with lenders and internal partners
  • Collaborate with construction, lending, and corporate teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and successful home delivery
  • Stay informed on local market trends, buyer preferences, and competitive activity to effectively position the community and support business goals
  • Maintain the accuracy of community marketing materials and online content while ensuring model homes, sales centers, and community assets remain customer-ready
  • Achieve customer satisfaction goals while representing the M/I Homes brand with professionalism and accountability
  • Support additional sales, customer experience, and operational initiatives as needed to contribute to community and division success

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of established sales experience with a demonstrated track record of success both in sales volume and customer satisfaction
  • This is a full-time, on-site position. Team members work 5 days a week, which includes weekends
  • Must be willing to obtain a Michigan Builders Salesperson license within 2-3 months of employment
  • Ability to accomplish goals independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Exhibits confidence, resiliency, and a drive to succeed while providing excellent customer service
  • Receptive to training, eager to learn, and committed to applying new knowledge and skills to excel in the New Home Consultant role
  • Strong communication, including active listening, observation, negotiation, selling, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills and willingness to adapt to new technology
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training in sales and marketing) is preferred
