Job Description:

A CommonSpirit Health Nurse Resident is a new graduate direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they transition into practice. They are expected to demonstrate the appropriate competency in both core and functional areas. Progression is expected in the areas of leading through mission vision and values, patient/customer focus, taking ownership, health care knowledge, teamwork, clinical performance improvement, service excellence, decision making and critical thinking, and patient safety.

Job Responsibility:

  • Builds skills to utilize current evidence based practice knowledge, the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care
  • Collaborates and communicates with the interprofessional team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery
  • Develops accountability for own practice, delegated care, and the coordination of care delivery
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge in nursing practice and assumes responsibility for the professional development of self
  • Attainment of Core Competencies in Taking Ownership, Teamwork, Patient / Customer Focus, Leading through Mission, Vision and Values, Effective communication, Patient Safety, Clinical Performance Improvement, Continuous Learning, Followership, Service Excellence, Healthcare Knowledge, Nursing Assessment and Care, Decision-Making and Critical Thinking, Clinical Skills

Requirements:

  • Associates Of Science Nursing and 0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: KY, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months
