A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced New Business specialist to join a high-performing regional underwriting team. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial underwriting experience and a proven ability to lead and develop successful teams. You’ll be empowered to drive profitable growth across the region, strengthen broker relationships, and lead strategic new business activity.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Regional New Business team to deliver profitable growth
  • Foster a strong performance and sales-driven culture
  • Underwrite larger and more complex commercial cases consistently and profitably
  • Build and maintain strong broker relationships to generate quality new business
  • Work with the Regional Distribution Manager to deliver the regional sales strategy
  • Support the development of underwriting capability and product knowledge within the team
  • Monitor and improve prospect quality, pipeline strength, and conversion rates

Requirements

  • Proven experience writing Commercial insurance classes
  • Demonstrated success in leading or managing a high-performing underwriting or sales-focused team
  • Strong commercial underwriting capability, particularly with complex cases
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, particularly with brokers
  • Confident decision-maker with strong analytical and commercial judgement
  • Motivated, proactive, and able to drive results through people and process
