Performs technical interpretations (scoring) of routine level procedures by both manual and computer analysis
Test administration and scoring is appropriate for age and cognitive status of each patient as discussed with the supervising psychologist
Administers routine psychological and neuropsychological tests according to test standards and departmental guidelines
Instructs patients in the use of self-report testing, reviews patient’s self-report data and scores the test(s)
Attends bimonthly group supervision sessions. Seeks out assistance from Neuropsychological Tech II and psychologists for individual supervision as needed
Provides complete documentation for each procedure performed and maintains necessary records. Reports behavioral observations. Reviews patient’s existing records to aid in the assessment of the test data. Interprets test data under direct supervision of psychologist
Upon receipt of referral, schedules services for inpatients and outpatients
Communicate effectively with physicians, hospital staff and patients. Demonstrates a tolerance for new ideas and suspends initial judgements, gives and accepts constructive feedback
Attain knowledge and skills necessary to perform intermediate and advance level procedures and preliminary interpretations of these procedures by both manual and computer analysis
Assists in the development and presentation of in-service education for hospital staff and community. Aids in the development and maintenance of a library of literature on clinical and assessment issues
Performs assigned duties on research projects
Adheres to departmental and hospital policies and procedures
Understands the principles of CQI and works with other employees to improve processes within psychological services and with other departments as necessary
Attends CQI in-services and workshops offered by the hospital
Functions as a team member on the CQI and various departmental teams
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
Beginning graduate level coursework in psychological and neuropsychological testing preferred
experience and exposure to psychological assessment with diverse patient populations and diagnostic groups preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of routine neuropsychological tests (WAIS-IV, WISC-V) preferred

Ability to work in a fast paced environment with established time constraints
Work may be performed on inpatient units at bedside with outpatients in department
